Sting invites flood relief volunteers to Brisbane concert.
Volunteers who selflessly helped fellow Queenslanders in the recent floods have been given the nod by legendary muso, Sting.
Sting, who is currently touring Australia with his Symphonicity Tour, and powerhouse touring company, Live Nation, has announced that they will be inviting many of these heroes to his upcoming concert at the Brisbane Riverstage on Monday, February 7.
Candidates from the Red Cross, the State Emergency Service and Volunteering Queensland will be selected by ballot to win the opportunity to see Sting perform live with the Sydney Symphony (conducted by Steven Mercurio) in Brisbane. At previous shows on the tour, Sting dedicated Fragile to those affected by floods across Australia. He has also pledged royalties from the track Fields Of Gold which has been included on the benefit compilation CD, Flood Relief: Artists For The Flood Appeal, alongside other artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Bob Dylan.
