Melbourne Music Week has just unveiled its 2017 hub, the historic St Paul’s Cathedral. Sitting on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets, the church is right at the city’s heart providing unprecedented access for punters.
It’s the first time in its 126 year history the neo-Gothic home has been used in such a manner where it will house four huge music showcases.
Opening night will be hosted by Smooch Records bringing Juliana Barwick to the stage alongside Kath Bloom, Divide and Dissolve, Wilson Tanner and more.
German electronic powerhouse, DJ Hell, will also arrive for an Australian exclusive while the likes of Sampa The Great, Fortunes, Spike Fuck, The Harpoons, Banoffee, Darcy Baylis, Planete, and more, will also grace the holy residence.
After last year’s amazing run at the State Library, we’ve been wondering how Melbourne Music Week would manage to top themselves. Safe to say, they’ve well and truly done it again.
