Spotswood Summer Sessions is back for 2026 with four huge free weekends of pop-up music events.
After an incredible response to the initial run, Spotswood Summer Sessions returns to bring the community together right in the heart of the neighbourhood. Local musicians, bands and DJs take over across four action-packed days designed to celebrate everything that makes the area special.
Free, family-friendly and bursting with energy, these pop-up events create the perfect excuse to grab tasty bites from nearby traders, catch up with friends and neighbours, and soak up proper summer vibes. It’s all about community connection, local creativity and good times without the price tag.

Spotswood Summer Sessions shines a light on the vibrant community, incredible local food scene, and the creative spirit that defines the neighbourhood. Live music sets the soundtrack while locals and visitors alike discover what makes this corner of Melbourne’s west worth celebrating.
February’s weekend kicks off with back-to-back sessions on 7 and 8 February, running from midday until 6pm both days. Presented through HBCC’s Make It Happen Grant, these initial sessions set the tone for what’s shaping up to be summer’s essential west-side gathering.
March continues the momentum with another weekend takeover on 14 and 15 March, also running 12pm-6pm across both days. This round comes courtesy of a West Gate Neighbourhood Fund grant from the West Gate Tunnel Project, ensuring the good times keep rolling into autumn.
Four weekends means eight separate sessions of live music, local flavour and summer celebration. Whether you hit one afternoon or all eight, Spotswood Summer Sessions delivers the kind of unpretentious, community-driven experience that makes Melbourne’s west such a special place to call home.
