Spaced Out festival brings alt-rock and psychedelic sounds to Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre

The cosmic music festival will be touching down at Melbourne's Northcote Theatre on December 9.

Following a string of sold-out shows in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Spaced Out festival is finally making its way down to Melbourne for one big day of psych-rock bliss.

Sponsored by Billy Bones Club & Mountain Goat Beer, the event will take over the Northcote Theatre on December 9, set to kick off at 2pm.

With a huge 10-artist lineup, Spaced Out promises to be an all-day celebration of freaky, fuzzed-out fun.

Brisbane five-piece Shag Rock will lead the charge. The band, currently on tour with The Vanns, have won over the hearts of fans with their cruisy sound and effortlessly good vibes. With multiple sold-out tours and more than 40 million global streams, they’re a quickly rising force of Aussie indie rock.

They’ll be joined on the bill by Newcastle surf rock band Rum Jungle, Sydney alt-rock trio Surf Trash, the experimental Gold Coast group Peach Fur and many, many more. Spaced Out will give Melbourne fans a chance to check out musical offerings from the more sunny corners of Australia.

The team behind the festival has also recently announced a New Year’s Day 2024 party taking place at Brisbane’s Felons Barrel Hall and featuring artists including Royel Otis, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Dice, Sun Room (USA), The Moving Stills, Girl & Girl, Lipstick and more.
