Sydney Independent radio station FBi 94.5FM held its SMAC awards ceremony last night with Cloud Control dominating the evening by taking away three of its thirteen awards.

The ceremony hosted by Chris Taylor, was held at the National Art School in Darlinghurst and also saw artists the likes of Beastman, Heaps Decent and the Jezabels coming away with a SMAC.

The Sydney Music Arts and Culture Awards celebrate Sydney-based recognised, as well as upcoming artists, musicians and participants of the cultural community.

The Best Artist Award went to Brad Eastman, more commonly known as Beastman whose bold-coloured wilderbeasts cover walls of Sydney streets.

The band from the Blue Mountains, Cloud Control took away the Best Live Music Award as well as the Best on Screen SMAC for their video of There’s Nothing in the Water. Their third SMAC was awarded for Bliss Release, the Record of the Year.

And who took away the most sought after of the SMACs? The award given to the artist who has made the greatest contribution to Sydney‘s music and culture? Jimmy Sing and Hana Shimada from the Liverpool Street, live music venue and club Goodgod.

SMACs are held annually and the winners are voted for by the online community.
