Sip your way through Victoria's most cherished wine region.

Get ready to gather your friends, family and even your furry companions, because the beloved spring wine festival, Shedfest, is returning to the stunning Yarra Valley on October 12 and 13.

This is the perfect opportunity for wine enthusiasts to indulge in two days of tastings at 14 boutique, family-run wineries, all members of the Yarra Valley Smaller Wineries Association.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

Shedfest offers a unique festival experience that showcases some of the region’s best-kept secrets. Attendees can expect a delightful array of small-batch, minimal-intervention wines, with over 100 varieties available for tasting, including sparkling, rosé, red, white, orange and dessert wines, as well as ciders and beers.

Even novice wine drinkers will gain valuable insights into the world of wine as they taste both new and vintage releases exclusive to the event.

Beyond the wine, each participating winery will offer carefully curated entrée-sized bites under $25, with a diverse menu ranging from authentic Sicilian barbeque to modern Thai cuisine. Kids and those with dietary restrictions will find plenty of options as well, ensuring everyone is catered for.

This year, Shedfest welcomes two new wineries — Yileena Park and Helen’s Hill Estate — while returning favourites like Six Acres and Seville Estate are back after several years.

Guests can also enjoy exciting activities, such as lawn games at Sutherland Estate, a free family petting zoo at Tokar Estate, a classic car display at Steels Gate, and kids’ colouring books at Yileena Park.

To make the festival accessible for every budget, the ticketing structure has been simplified, with options for everyone from casual sippers to VIPs.

Kids, non-drinkers and designated drivers can enter for free, making it a family-friendly event. Best of all, your participation contributes to local community groups, with the YVSWA raising over $100,000 for organizations like the local CFA, SES, and Make-A-Wish Australia.
