In a fantastic attempt to justify your outrageous gig spending, cop a load of this amazing study conducted by live music venue O2 and behavioural science expert Patrick Fagan, that claims that regular live music-goers are adding nine years to their life expectancy.
The study has backed up this slightly unbelievable claim through psychometric testing and also heart-rate tests, that were able to determine that live music increases feelings of self-worth, closeness to others and mental stimulation. All of these things are important to overall wellbeing and mental health.
The tests found that attending a gig for just 20 minutes can result in a 21% increase in “feelings of well-being”. It all seems a bit vague and difficult to accurately measure, and perhaps even a pretty clever marketing tactic by O2, but who are we to argue with science!
This is your justification to spend all your money on festival season.
