Almost fifty years to the date after signing his first ever record deal, Rod Stewart will release the 30th studio album of his career, Blood Red Roses.
The 13-track album sees Stewart visiting his songwriting roots, opposing playful lyrics against personal self-reflection. Blood Red Roses is Stewart’s first release in almost three years, coming on the back of 2015’s international best-seller, Another Country.
“I always think I make albums for a few friends and this record has that intimacy,” says Stewart of the forthcoming album. “Sincerity and honesty go a long way in life and the same is true in song-writing.”
From receiving two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to being knighted by Prince William, Stewart’s career – spanning half a century – has been monstrous and it seems he has no plans to retire any time soon. Check out the first single from Blood Red Reasons, ‘Didn’t I’ below:
