Q&A: FANGS

What’s your name then? Oh. And the name of your band…

Glenn, our band is called FANGS.

And what do you do?

I hit the skins.

When did you start doing that?

We started FANGS in early 2010 – I cant remember much about life before then!

Why did you start doing that?

We’ve all played together in other bands for years, we wanted to focus on something that drew from our influences and we were passionate about.

Do you think you’re good at doing that?

I think so. We’ve taken a very mixed bag of influences and created something that is unique a good mix of the music we dig.

If you weren’t doing that, what would you be doing?

Mmmm I’d probably just be getting wasted with no real direction.

What’s your proudest moment of doing what you do?

Our proudest moment recently was listening to the final masters of our brand new single Monsters and realising we’d actually captured our vision for the track. It turned out exactly as we wanted, it’s raw and natural which is what we aimed for.

And your least proud?

We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far with FANGS. It can be a slow process building from the ground up, as I’m sure all independent bands know. The second we start making decisions we’re not proud of as a band then we will have a big problem…but I think we just keep trucking and roll with the punches.

When are you doing your thing next?

We’re hitting the road on a short single tour to launch Monsters in November/December. We will be at Cherry Bar on Friday November 25with Money For Rope and Without Wolves. It’s a great lineup at a great venue and we would love to see you all there….we might even take requests…maybe.
