Melbourne hardcore/metal/grind troublemakers Blood Duster have announced the release of a career-spanning double LP compilation of rare tracks and out-of-print singles. Entitled All That Remains, the release also marks the end of the band, having played their final show in Melbourne last weekend. Founding bassist and spokesman Jason Fuller explains, “This album contains a few never before heard/lost tracks from the self-titled session as well as tracks from splits and deleted EPs.” All That Remains is available now via Goatsound.
Chicago hardcore noisemakers Harm’s Way have announced the upcoming release of their fourth full-length album, their first since 2015’s Rust. Marking their first release on landmark heavy label Metal Blade, new album Posthuman will continue the hardcore the band is known for, but with an evolved expansion into other influences. “We’ve always stayed true to who we are and allowed the songwriting process to take shape organically from record to record, and as the band has progressed, our sound has become more refined with metal and industrial influences,” explains drummer Chris Mills. Posthuman is due out Friday February 9 on Metal Blade Records.
Emo-punk legends Jawbreaker have announced the remastered re-release of their 1989 demo tape. Originally handmade by the band and sold at early shows, many of the songs ended up being rerecorded and appeared on later singles and compilations. Originally thought to be lost, the master tape of the recording was found in a box in a basement last year. The tape has been painstakingly restored and remixed to bring it back to life, sounding better than ever. The demo tape is available to stream now via Bandcamp.
Sydney hardcore band Hostile Objects have teamed up with Sydney pop-punks Chinese Burns Unit to release a new split 7” single. Due for release later this month on Arrest Records, two tracks from Hostile Objects are available to stream now on their Bandcamp page.
New York orgcore darlings Iron Chic have announced an upcoming Australian tour this February. Touring on the back of their recently released third album You Can’t Stay Here, the band will play three shows in Melbourne. Catch them at an all-ages show at Wrangler Studios on Saturday February 10, The Bendigo Hotel that same night, and finally at The Reverence Hotel on Sunday February 11. Tickets are on sale now.
