PSA: Guide Dogs Victoria need you to raise some puppers

guidedogs.jpg

Do you have your shit together enough to look after a small doggerino? If so, Guide Dogs Victoria need your help.

They’re currently looking for those living in Melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo or Ballarat to raise their pups from around seven weeks of age until they hit the 12-month mark.

Puppy Raisers are an integral part of what Guide Dogs Victoria do, and without them, the organisation wouldn’t be able to train them into the life-changing doggos they were born to be.

If you’re keen, they’ll provide you with ongoing support and instructions as well as regular direction, telephone conversations and visits every six to eight weeks to check in.

The outcome is to nurture the pups until they become confident, well socialised and focused. If they pass the Big Doggo Exam (although I’m pretty sure there’s a more official name for that) when they’re returned, they’ll go on to be fully fledged guide dogs – all thanks to you.
