La Di Darts, Funlab’s augmented reality darts bar, opens beneath Holey Moley on 19 November
The CBD’s darts habit is getting worse, and La Di Darts is the latest enabler, arriving on Little Bourke Street.
Funlab, the outfit behind Holey Moley and Strike Bowling, opens La Di Darts on 19 November on the ground floor of its Holey Moley Golf Club at 590 Little Bourke Street. Each of the five private booths has its own oche, the line you throw from (it rhymes with hockey). An augmented reality setup runs more than 10 game modes and keeps score automatically. Sessions last 60 or 90 minutes and start at $17, and bookings are already open.

Drinks come to you. There are two bars, but booth service means nobody has to surrender the oche to get another round. The house cocktail, the Peacock Party, mixes white rum and falernum with passionfruit, lime, pineapple and mint, and arrives in a peacock glass. Food sticks to bar bites.
La Di Darts isn’t the city’s first darts bar. Oche already has Elizabeth Street covered, and made Beat’s list of Melbourne’s best gaming bars, while Flight Club holds down Russell Street. Funlab arrives with form, though: it already runs two La Di Darts in Sydney, in Darlinghurst and Alexandria. The Darlinghurst original leans on chaise lounges and feather boas, and the chaise lounges, at least, are making the trip south.
Holey Moley’s 18 holes of mini golf stay upstairs, so a darts session can roll straight into a round of putt-putt without leaving the building. Funlab CEO Blaise Witnish reckons darts is a game anyone can learn on the spot, and nobody needs to know a double top from a bullseye to keep up. It’s the company’s latest Melbourne venture, joining a dozen Funlab venues across the city.
Christmas is the obvious target. Several private event spaces are on offer, with group packages from $52 a head, and Southern Cross Station is a few minutes’ walk for anyone heading home late.
