Sydney’s SYPRESS, aka Isy Piper, has revealed the third single from her forthcoming debut EP, Bother Me. Titled ‘Gunz Ablaze’, the track continues her metamorphosis from pop powerhouse to bass-heavy badass.
Combining big beats and a pulsing bassline, the single melds a tech house sound with empowering themes around wielding your sexuality and not needing a romantic partner to complete you.

“’Gunz Ablaze’ is about being hunted for love but only feeling lust. Being a man-eater and enjoying the chase,” says Piper.
“The vocals were written and demo [was] recorded in my home studio with my best friend Jesse, aka FOSTYR. It was our first time writing together and we spent a full afternoon and evening having the best time channelling our bad bitch energy. This song is where SYPRESS was born.”
Since making her debut in November 2020 with ‘Back2U’, swiftly followed by her sophomore single ‘Bother Me’, SYPRESS has been on the up-and-up, garnering national radio play on triple j as well as supporting the likes of G Flip, Bag Raiders and Winston Surfshirt onstage.
Having already made massive strides in the short time since she burst onto the scene last year, it looks like there’ll be big things to come from SYPRESS.
