Seven-piece Melbourne soul outfit Fulton Street reveal their new single ‘Check Yourself’ today, a taste of the band’s forthcoming debut album, Problems and Pain.
Lead by the powerhouse voice of Shannen Wick and a funk-fuelled brass section, ‘Check Yourself’ delivers high-energy groove infused with R&B and soul. Though immediately danceable with its contagious rhythm, ‘Check Yourself’ packs a punch lyrically, showcasing the band’s dexterity.
After making their debut with the single ‘Young People’ in 2016, Fulton Street quickly found their footing — hitting the stage at the likes of Caloundra Music Festival and Melbourne Music Week, as well as landing Bluesfest sideshow support slots over the past two years. With ‘Check Yourself’ delivering a promising glimpse of the band’s debut album, it seems this is just the beginning for Fulton Street.
Fulton Street will unveil their debut album Problems and Pain on Wednesday August 1, until then check out their new single ‘Check Yourself’ below.
