Despite being formally retired, Powderfinger continue to pump out the hits. Or rather, they continue to pump out secondary album filler which pales in comparison to the hits. But whatever, at least they’re still pumping stuff out, right? AM I RIGHT, ‘FINGER FANS? Empty Space is a previously unreleased track that sweetens the offer on the second Powderfinger ‘Best of’ collection (Footprints – 2001-2011). As usual, there is a reason this unreleased track didn’t appear on an album. It is very earnest and dull. “Was it all a waste? Was it all in vain? I still want you by my side and in my heart you’ll stay.” Not Bernie’s shining moment, lyrically speaking.
