Testing Grounds is a former vacant lot turned unconventional urban garden in Southbank that will be hosting the three shows.

Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds will be performing as part of the SummerSalt opening night celebrations. A founding member of The Gun Club and guitarist for The Cramps and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kid Congo makes his first trip to Australia with long‐term cohorts The Pink Monkey Birds.

On Friday February 20, UK artist Peter Hook will perform with his new band The Light for an evening of hits from the two iconic bands he helped found- Joy Division and New Order. New Order’s Low Life and Brotherhood albums will be performed in their entirety with a special opening set of Joy Division material.

Boston band Lake Dive will bring their sound to the closing weekend of SummerSalt. Filling the gap between Motown soul, sixties pop zip and British invasion swagger, they were named one of the best bands of 2014 by Rolling Stone. It ook a video of the band gathered arounf a single mic, performing a cover of Jackson 5’s I Want You Back to take the band from a smalltown following to selling out venues around the world.
