Pegassi locks in his first Australian tour with all-night December sets

Words by staff writer

Belgian producer Pegassi is making his Australian debut this December, and he's not planning an early night.

The trip brings two extended all-night headline sets to the east coast. Pegassi plays The Wool Store in Melbourne on 4 December, then Carriageworks in Sydney on 5 December, with both shows presented by Untitled Group and Finely Tuned.

Both dates are pitched as extended all-night affairs rather than standard sets, which gives Pegassi room to stretch out over a longer stint behind the decks. Behind the name is Sam Huybrecht, a producer and DJ who folds eurodance, trance, techno and house into one rave-leaning package. He first turned heads with a remix of No Type that climbed to the top of SoundCloud’s global charts, and he’s known for fast-paced productions and high-energy live sets.

His single Yoyoyo helped push him onto club and festival lineups around the world, while newer releases including MOAA, Upclose and 227kg have kept the output steady. Along the way he’s earned backing from artists such as Marlon Hoffstadt, Anetha, Trym, Job Jobse, VTSS and Solomun.

Pegassi’s festival history already takes in major European names like Tomorrowland, Boiler Room, Thuishaven, Teletech, Else, Intercell and RSO. His recently announced ADE headline show reportedly sold out in just 30 minutes.

He’s also moved beyond the booth with Sweet Nothing, his own label and events platform set up to spotlight emerging talent. The Melbourne leg is supported by the Victorian government through Creative Victoria.

Presale registration is open now. Presale tickets go on sale at 12pm AEST on 25 June, with general public tickets following at 12pm AEST on 26 June.
