Kelly’s acclaimed tour with Neil Finn (himself once a Melbourne resident) won Best Australian Contemporary Concert.

Minogue was honoured for her lifetime achievement, a recipient of the JC Williamson Award alongside arts philanthropist David Blenkinsop. Minogue’s long time friend, tour promoter and former label boss, Michael Gudinski, spoke at the award ceremony on her accomplishments.

Gudinski’s Frontier Touring Company also enjoyed the spotlight when its Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band’s Wrecking Ball 2013 tour took out Best International Contemporary Concert. The Boss won over two finalists from Melbourne, Archie Roach and Gotye, as well as Keith Urban, Barry Gibb, Coldplay and the Tedeschi Trucks Band & Trombone Shorty.

White Night Melbourne got the gong for Best Special Event.

Two national festivals which initially began in Victoria – Falls Music & Arts and Laneway – were up for Best Contemporary Music Festival, but lost out to Byron Bay’s Bluesfest.
