The Graveyard Bar's mystery headliner has finally been unmasked, and it's a resurrection worthy of the venue's name.

Beloved, femme-powered post-rock party machine Party Pest are coming out of retirement to close Friday night of The Graveyard Bar’s first birthday weekender, exactly one year after they played their last-ever show.

Featuring ex-members of The Reprobates, Moody Beaches and Ute Root, Party Pest became a mainstay on Naarm stages, winning hearts with unpredictable live shows and essential post-rock power. Their return is the kind of comeback that suits a venue built on riffs and good chaos.

Joining Party Pest in the bandroom on Friday 16 October is an eclectic, maximum-power bill of Graveyard faves.

Hard rock supergroup DOSE and peerless thrash rap party machine CRIIMES are on the card, while up-and-coming alt-rockers The Bronze open with their buzzworthy, noise-driven alt pop.

Over in the main bar, Jungle Jim Smith keeps the party rolling from 7pm with his one-man, skuzzy, stomping blues explosion.

Friday is only the beginning.

Saturday 17 October brings a huge ten-band bandroom lineup from midday, with Seedy Jeezus headlining alongside Oceanlord, Machetez, Hail Freya, Neck of the Vulture, Dissect Me, Pointless Daggers, One Whole Hand, Kömune and Palliative.

The main bar runs its own bill from 1:30pm, featuring Erik Parker, Karl (H-Block), The King G, James Silveria, Matilda, and Max & Sam.

Sunday 18 October winds things down with a mellower main bar session from 2:30pm, with Rusty Brown, Erin Kelly, Madigan’s Wake James & Leanne, and Dave & Johnny.

Fuelling the weekend is an all-weekend happy hour and an outdoor Japanese barbecue, so punters have plenty of sustenance to survive three straight days of live music.

Remember, it’s not a party without Party Pest.
