On The Banks Of The Tigris: The Hidden Story of Iraqi Music was awarded Best Documentary at the Baghdad International Film Festival. The film was made in Melbourne and tells the story of Iraqi-Australian exile Majid Shokor’s journey from Melbourne to Europe, Israel and Iraq to discover the source of the music he has always loved. The opening night will feature Joseph Tawadros – virtuoso oud player and winner of three Aria Awards – in a live performance.
