Ocean Grove announce special Melbourne Christmas show Oddworld Xmas

Ocean Grove will be joined by special guests Bloom, TOWNS and Daddy Issues.

Christmas has come early in 2022 for Ocean Grove fans, with the Oddworld icons announcing today a very special hometown Christmas show on Friday 17 December at Stay Gold.

Following a huge 2022 with the release of their third album Up In The Air Forever, appearances at Monolith Festival, headline shows and performances in the UK and Europe, the brand new era for the Oddworld trio is well and truly in full swing; and what better way to celebrate the band’s latest chapter, bid farewell to a massive year and get in the festive spirit than with the inaugural OG XMAS PARTY, with Ocean Grove set to be joined by special guests Bloom, TOWNS and Daddy Issues.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Of the upcoming Oddworld festivities, Ocean Grove vocalist Dale Tanner shares: “We realised no one really knows what Christmas is like in The Oddworld so we figured we’d throw a party and invite everyone along to find out!!!

“The inaugural ODDWORLD XMAS is gunna be a jolly as fuck way to cap off a wild 2022 and we can’t wait to shake the walls of Stay Gold for one last hoorah before the year is out. It wouldn’t be a party without mates, so we’re bringing the best oddballs we could find (Bloom, Towns & Daddy Issues) along for the sleigh-ride. If I were you I’d be putting 1 x show ticket right at the top of your wishlist, Junkies – it’s gonna be iconic.”

Hailing from Sydney, Bloom blend hard-hitting thematics and gripping melodic hardcore with effortless ease. Recently performing at Alpha Wolf’s inaugural CVLTFEST and In Peril Fest, as well as appearances alongside Void Of Vision, Holding Absence, Future Static and more earlier this year, expect memorable hooks, raw emotions and plenty of singalong moments at the OG XMAS PARTY.

Beloved Adelaide duo TOWNS are no strangers to bringing the good vibes to the masses, from their debut 2018 EP Television which charmed via its 90s pop rock and Australian flavours, to their most recent EP release Things You Might Feel Sometimes. With live show as irresistibly wholesome and fun as their tunes, there will be plenty of merry moments on the cards at Stay Gold from this lovable pair.

Melbourne’s Daddy Issues are no strangers to crunchy distortion and lush punk that hits you right in the feels. A four piece all-girl punk band wielding fuzz, dreamy melodics and the cathartic snarl of a woman scorned, get ready to deck the halls in delightful Daddy Issues style on December 17.

There ain’t no party like an Ocean Grove party, and ’tis the season for a very Ocean Grove Christmas. Secure your ticket to the festive event of the season!
