The City of Melbourne’s annual festival of art, ideas, sound, and technology, Now or Never, is gearing up for its 2025 edition, inviting submissions for bold and boundary-pushing projects.

Following a successful 2024 run that featured 250 artists and drew 250,000 attendees across 100 events, the festival is set to return in August 2025, ready to showcase creativity like never before.

For 2025, the festival has embraced the theme I Have Seen the Future, a concept that encourages curiosity and exploration.

Whether envisioning a utopia, a dystopia, or something entirely unexpected, the festival is seeking projects that interpret this theme in innovative ways. From large-scale audiovisual performances to cutting-edge technology-driven installations, Now or Never is on the lookout for ideas that captivate and inspire.

Artists, musicians, and creators are encouraged to submit works that are ambitious, daring, and engaging. The festival is particularly interested in projects that push creative boundaries, appeal to large audiences, and use technology as a means of imaginative expression. Selected projects will receive fees of up to $100,000 to support their development and presentation.

Submissions are open for projects ready for the August 2025 festival, as well as those needing additional development time for presentation in 2026.

Interested applicants can submit their proposals by Wednesday, 13 November 2024 here.
