The ultimate Prince celebration kicks off at the Sydney Opera House before coming to Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Sunday April 29. Producers Phil Bathols and Tim Woods are thrilled to announce the concert celebration and tickets are available now.

“I am so excited to be coming back to Australia this April, heading up an all-star line-up of musicians to honour the incredible life and music of Prince,” says St Paul Peterson, the shows musical director who knew Prince since he was 17. “We are honoured to keep his memory and music alive at the world premiere of Nothing Compares 2 Prince.

Nothing Compares 2 Prince stars performers from Prince and the Revolution, The Time, The Family (fDeluxe), Purple Rain, Mint Condition, NPG (the New Power Generation) and The Revolution. All of these musicians were at Prince’s right hand during his musical journey.

“We’re very excited about this brand-new show,” says Bathols. “We’ve worked extremely hard to create a concert that we feel would have enjoyed Prince’s blessing, including people that he would have welcomed and endorsed.”

It’s an ambitious project as the concert features so many extraordinary musicians and singers from around the world to perform songs from Prince’s catalogue.

“To say that I am excited to return to Australia to honour my friend is an understatement,” says Nik West, female bassist and vocalist. “I was there for his Piano and a Microphone tour in 2016 and the memories are enormous. I am honoured and humbled to work with these wonderful artists and musicians for the world premiere.”

The line-up includes St Paul Peterson, Shelby J, Andy Allo, Jellybean Johnson, Mike Scott, Nik West, Stokley Williams, Ricky Peterson, Adrian Crutchfield, BK Jackson, and Lynn Grissett.
