Nils Frahm announced for Melbourne Festival 2018

Berlin-based composer and pianist Nils Frahm has been unveiled as the first act for the 2018 Melbourne Festival, which kicks off in October this year.

This will be Frahm’s first live performance since 2015 and comes off the back of his new album All Melody, a 12-track musical journey that ranges from angelic choruses to synthesizer riffs.

Frahm’s last Melbourne show was a sold-out affair in 2014, and Melbourne Festival Artistic Director, Jonathon Holloway, is expecting this year to be just as big.

“Nils Frahm is an artist who defies all categorisation, equally as comfortable filling a recital hall as a dancefloor. We are thrilled to have him perform as part of our 2018 program, and anyone who has caught Frahm live knows that this will be a wall-shaking, roof-raising affair,” he said.

The full program comes out Wednesday July 25, so stay tuned for more.
