New bar, restaurant, DJs and installations coming to Howey Place

Supermelbourne
Words by Zachary Sanderson

Supermelbourne is a new pop-up event made to encourage visitors and showcase Melbourne’s culture.

Featuring Melbourne’s best coffee, cocktails and street art, Supermelbourne is set to have its debut from Saturday 22 October until Wednesday 26.

Designed to be a marketing campaign to booster Melbourne’s economy and provide a plethora of jobs, the event is an opportunity to celebrate the unique Melbourne experience.

What’s on at Supermelbourne

  • Great coffee and macarons pairing Scott Pickett and The Alley Edition
  • Filipino canapés with a Supermelbourne unique cocktail
  • A myriad of street art with a light and sound experience
  • Ten different DJ’s set to play over the weekend
  • Street apparel and fashion set to be exhibited

If you needed to convince your mates to move to Melbourne, this is the perfect event for it. Featuring DJs to immersive light and art installations, fashion exhibits and the best coffee and cocktails. Supermelbourne is set to transform Howey Place in the CBD into a cultural hub for all things exceptional in Melbourne.

The Melbourne City Council is expecting a massive response for this event. $6.74 billion was contributed to the economy alone by city visitors last year, and nearly 86,000 jobs were created as a result. Given how the lockdowns affected the economy, Supermelbourne isn’t just a chance at celebrating the unique compositions of our city, it’s a step forward for our tourism, hospitality and artistic industries.

“We know experience-based campaigns generate a significant windfall for traders and retailers – and the thousands of jobs they support. Since the beginning of the year, our FOMO campaign attracted almost 350,000 visitors to the city – spending up to $16 million each month.” Says Lord Mayor Sally Capp.

Although a free event, some parts of Supermelbourne are limited. If you wanted to revel in even more experiences, visit the City of Melbourne website.
