Nerve celebrates two years this weekend with four headliners and free drinks

Words by staff writer

Turning two means doubling down on the lineup and opening the bar tab early.

Nerve marks its second birthday on 29 November with a four-headliner bill and complimentary drinks from 10pm to 11pm. The weekly Friday night hard techno and hard bounce event at Brown Alley is expanding its usual format to celebrate the milestone.

Dutch artist Felicie returns to the decks with her high-intensity hardgroove techno that’s taken her from Exhale and Soma Records to Tresor, Fold and Fabrik. Her Boiler Room appearances and releases through Clergy have cemented her reputation across Europe’s underground circuit.

Melbourne’s 3amdisco follows with a hard dance sound that’s gained traction throughout 2024. His heavy low-end and peak-time energy have caught attention from Reinier Zonneveld, Funk Tribu, I Hate Models and Laura King, with upcoming releases on Filth on Acid, Revised and Central Station. The night rounds out with Cookies & Cream and Brooke Powell alongside the Nerve residents across two rooms and an outdoor rooftop area.

The venue runs its usual drink specials all night with $6 Carlton, $10 Alizé and Agwa, $11 vodkas and basics, plus $12 South Ave cocktails. Nerve operates every Friday night with a state of the art drum and bass sound system spread across two rooms. The event is strictly 18-plus with management reserving the right to refuse entry. Tickets are non-refundable and the venue offers free parking. The second birthday celebration expands on the club’s regular weekly format while maintaining its focus on hard techno and hard bounce sounds.
