National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia during the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
A woman holds gum leaves in both hands in what appears to be a traditional Aboriginal performance. She is before a crowd outdoors.
This year’s NAIDOC celebrations will be held from Sunday 6 to Sunday 13 July and marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.
This year’s NAIDOC theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, is a powerful reflection on the achievements of the past and the promise of the future. For more information on the theme, visit NAIDOCOpens in new tab.
