Foster The People are gearing up for an intimate club night on the St Kilda esplanade.

Foster The People, the LA-based dance-pop duo that absolutely dominated the 2010s, is heading to Melbourne for a unique party. Taking place on October 19 in The Espy‘s Gershwin Room, their DJ set will be a night of bangers old and new.

After struggling for years as a jingle writer, founding member Mark Foster sprung onto the scene with his viral hit Pumped Up Kicks. From there, Foster The People gained a dedicated fanbase for their signature brand of upbeat indie with a dark lyrical twist.

Their debut album, Torches, secured them a Grammy nomination, featuring other hits including Houdini, Call It What You Want and Helena Beat. Earlier this year, they dropped their most recent release, Paradise State of Mind, packed with catchy, charming tracks that are sure to go off on the Gershwin dancefloor.

Funky, groovy and high energy, the new album has been lauded as the band’s most exciting since their debut, featuring singles like Lost In Space, Take Me Back and Chasing Low Vibrations.

The Espy’s Gershwin Room will be the prime place for such an event, packed in tight with partygoers from across Melbourne. With the basement, Louey’s, Mya Tiger and the sprawling beer garden to explore before or after the show, you’ll be in for a long night.

To make the deal even sweeter, entry is free, which means you can allocate a little extra to your drinks budget for the night. Those who have RSVPed will get priority access to the event before 9pm, so visitors are encouraged to get in early to secure front and centre spots.

The Espy’s Foster The People DJ Set is free, but RSVPing is recommended as it’s expected to be a popular event. Register here.
