Philadelphia's indie-rock heavyweights Mt. Joy are finally making the trip down under, and it's been a long time coming.
Mt. Joy are bringing their stadium-ready sound to Australia and New Zealand for the first time in February, with appearances at Laneway Festival and headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
The five-piece have spent the past eight years building a devoted following, racking up more than a billion streams and selling over half a million tickets across four albums. Their most recent release, Hope We Have Fun, dropped in 2025 and fuelled a massive North American tour that cemented their reputation as one of indie rock’s most reliable live acts. Mt. Joy have sold out iconic venues including Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks and The Greek Theatre, proving their appeal reaches far beyond the underground.

The band’s discography includes their self-titled 2018 debut, 2020’s Rearrange Us, 2022’s Orange Blood and this year’s Hope We Have Fun. Formed in 2016, Mt. Joy have carved out a space in the indie-rock landscape with their knack for writing anthemic, emotionally charged material that translates seamlessly to massive crowds. Their Australian debut arrives courtesy of Handsome Tours and Laneway Presents, with the Enmore Theatre and Forum shows offering a chance to catch the band in more intimate settings outside the festival circuit.
After wrapping their Laneway commitments, Mt. Joy head to London for a show at the Eventim Apollo on 27 March. With four records under their belt and a live show that’s earned them festival slots and arena headlines alike, the band’s first Australian visit is shaping up as one of the highlights of the summer touring calendar.
