Simon Gibbs (Tik Toc Tokyo) follows his phenomenal first single with another staggering blend of voice and percussion. Returning Song was influenced by ‘the sacred music of Hildegard Von Bingin’, amongst other things, and sounds like an intense folk spiritual, part Native American, part Gregorian chant. It is a majestic piece of music that somehow manages to be hip, experimental and earthy at the same time, putting Simon in the same territory as a latter day Bjork.
