MKA Theatre is back for a second year with four new plays both from Australia and overseas.

MKA emerged in 2010 as a platform for new writing and theatre in Melbourne. They delivered 25 workshop performances in one month for Open Season despite a shuffle in venue after only two performances. Now, with the help of the theatre community MKA are ready to move on, choosing four new works for MKA Season One. MKA Season One will take place between May 10 and July 30 and will feature four plays: three from Australia and one from Croatia. The season begins with the grim and gothic play Sleepyhead by Perth playwright Nathaniel Moncrieff, followed by David Finnigan’s (Canberra) 22 Short Plays.

Continuing the season is The Horror Face, a play by MKA’s General Manager Glyn Roberts and finally international contributor Vedrana Klepica concludes the season with J.A.T.O. MKA Season One will officially launch the company’s new space on Chapel St, Prahran on Monday April 18.
