Townsville band The Middle East will be touring Australia this June with their soon-to-be-released album I Want That You Are Always Happy

The length of the album’s title may reflect the time it took for the band to release the album, since their last EP The Recordings of The Middle East in 2009, which featured the songs Black Death 1349, Land of the Bloody Unknown and Jesus Came To My Birthday Party.

Since then the seven-member band (or maybe more? They often change…) have been busy touring with their ‘2-step’ style music and recording tracks for their upcoming album.

I Want That You Are Always Happy was initially recorded between tours at their Townsville studio in 2009, and continued at Midlake’s Denton studio after their performances at the South by South West Festival in Austin, Texas in 2010. Eventually The Middle East finished off the album in a make-shift Cairn’s studio.

The Middle East will take to the road on June 3, stopping in Melbourne on Saturday June 11 for a show at The Corner Hotel.

Tickets for The Middle East’s Melbourne Show are available from The Corner Hotel’s website.
