– A weekend full of sell-outs has been followed by a weekend full of positive reviews. Beat have given the thumbs up to past MICF Daily guests This is Siberian HuskyMike BirbigliaUrzila Carlson, and Jimeoin in recently published reviews. The Herald Sun has awarded their first five star review of the festival to Joel Creasey for his show The Drama Captain, with four and a half star reviews going to Lessons with Luis and Mel Buttle. And over at Squirrel Comedy, the comedy animals have written good things about Dave BlousteinDavid Quirk, and Cal Wilson.

– BONUS SHOWS: It may be early days for the 2013 festival, but a bunch of bonus shows have been announced if you can’t get to originally scheduled dates. Amongst the shows on this week, Matty Grey will perform Age-Less 2: Game On at 11:30am and 1:30pm this Thursday, April 4. Ruby Wax will stay an extra night on Friday April 5 at 9pm. Hannah Gadsby adds yet another Nakedy Nudes at 3:30pm, and Phil and Me adds an early 5:30pm performance – both of these on Sunday April 7. Additional shows have also been added for Steve HughesSuperwog and My Chonny, Benn Bennett, and Tracy Morgan. Check the Comedy Festival website for a full listing of bonus shows.

– Two previous MICF Daily guests have been featured in The Age over the long weekend. Tegan Higginbotham, whose solo standup show Touched by Fev has written an article about the former Carlton full forward and her love of Australian football. And yesterday’s guest Simon Keck features amongst many festival superstars in an article about life on the road, spinning a tale on an uncomfortable flight to Sydney. The two articles: “Growing up with Fev. But did he?” and “Travel gags in the bag” can be found at The Age online.

– Our friends at Beat are giving away plenty of tickets all festival long. This week’s issue features our very special 2013 Comedy Festival guide listing all the great acts at this year’s fest, and has details on giveaways for shows such as Joel CreaseyJohn RobertsonCal Wilson, and Wil Anderson. – Did you miss out on Daniel Kitson tickets like many other comedy fans? Fear not – you have a few more chances to catch the acclaimed funny man at this year’s fest. The guys behind LOL Comedy have announced A Somewhat Secret Stand Up Comedy Show hosted by Kitson for the next three Monday nights. Starting at 8pm tonight, the show will take place at the Provincial Hotel on the corner of Brunswick and Johnson Streets in Fitzroy. Tickets on the door. 

– ON THE MOVE: A number of shows move from their venues tonight to festival central – the Melbourne Town Hall. Shows on the move for Monday’s include Ruby Wax in Out of Her Mind at 6:30, Jack Druce at 8:30, Rich Hall at 9:00pm, Luke Heggie and Jeff Green at 9:30, and Aunty Donna and the Fax Machine Shop at 9:45pm.

– MONDAY SPECIALS: While Monday may be the traditional night-off for festival acts, tonight features a number of Monday only special shows. Forget about the Festival Club by seeing some of these Monday specials:

– Festival showcase The Early Show kicks things off 6:15pm at the Exford Hotel.

– Kiwi pop culture addicts FanFiction Comedy bring on Ben Pobjie and Wil Anderson to spin stories – 7pm tonight at the Town Hall.

– Today’s MICF Daily guests The Little Dum Dum Club muckrake with a live podcast taping, 7:15pm at the Town Hall.

– Anthony Salame performs his new hour of stand-up

– The Clown Prince, also at 7:15 at the Town Hall. – Comedy variety show The Shelf holds court at the Toff in Town 7:30 tonight. – Meanwhile in Fitzroy, comedy quiz show We Should Know Bettergets the questions going at 7:30pm. – Daniel Townes debuts at the 2013 festival with his show Against The Grain, 8:15 at the Town Hall.

– While John Robertson asks you – can you find the exit to The Dark Room? Also at Town Hall at 8:15.

– Local Laughs in St Kilda returns for another edition at 8:30 tonight. Also at 8:30, Comedy @ Spleen gets the laughs started at the top of town.

– Bev Killick goes “There”… Again, 8:30pm at the Town Hall.

– If you want to mix your comedy with karaoke why not try Comed-Oke’, 9pm at the Melbourne International Backpackers.

– Rob Hunter makes things awkward with festival guests during his Late O’Clock, tonight at 9:30.

– The peeps from Triple R’s Lime Champions’ present their Nightmare Tales, 9:45pm at the Town Hall.

 – And wrapping things up is standup showcase The After Party, 10:30 tonight at the Exford Hotel.
