As unpredictable as they are ferocious, Melbourne’s Brittle Bones return to the fold with the menacing new single and video for track Come Clean. After garnering praise and spins on Triple J’s Short. Fast. Loud, you can find the video spinning over at killyourstereo.com. Continuing the band’s repulsion of convention, Come Clean oozes juxtaposition – vocalist Mayjene Tan’s talents are anthemic yet unnerving, whilst guitarists Chris Whale and Aaron Griffiths bait with stadium rock guitar hooks before crunching into fierce discord. After locking themselves away in Hot House Studios with Jez Giddings (Clowns, The Living End, Kingswood) Come Clean is the first taste of Brittle Bones’ return, an embodiment of the band that has been deemed worthy to share stages alongside the likes of Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, Touche Amore, Guttermouth, Luca Brasi and Belle Haven.

Melbourne metal legends, Dreadnaught have also released a new video for track The Hated, lifted from 2016 LP Caught The Vultures Sleeping. The release was Dreadnaught’s first since their self-titled in 2009, and their first pressed on vinyl. The presale Pozible campaign to raise recording funds exceeded its target by 10%. Dreadnaught also welcomed a new guitarist to their ranks, with Neil Flavelle replacing Damon Alcock, who has left the band to focus on other life commitments. “After Damon’s decision to depart in December 2016 we closed out the year’s gigging commitments with Neil filling in on lead and rhythm guitar,” the band says. “Neil gelled with band very quickly and his writing and playing ability made our decision to offer the position very easy. His past work with StarArk and The Implicate Order shows Neil as a superb player and quality songwriter who will bring a new era of diversity to Dreadnaught.” See them alongside Superheist and Frankenbok, as part of Superheist’s Raise Hell AAA side single launch tour at The Croxton Bandroom on Friday June 16.

In ‘92 W.A.S.P. released The Crimson Idol – the story of Jonathan Aaron Steele, an abused child looking for love. Discovering music years later, he rises to international superstardom, later followed by a catastrophic fall. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the original release. It’s considered not only to be the best album of W.A.S.P.’s career, but also one of the greatest concept albums ever. The album was originally intended to be accompanied by a movie, with several hundred hours of film that were shot to create approximately 50 minutes of movie footage. This film has never before seen the light of day – until now. Napalm Records has proudly announced RE-IDOLZED, the 25th anniversary of the iconic hit album plus the original movie on DVD and Blu-ray. For the first time as originally intended, film and soundtrack will be united and released as one product. Release date is slated for the tail end on 2017.

In more Napalm Records news, the label has welcomed Lord of the Lost to their ever-expanding artist roster. Founded back in ‘07 by Chris Harms, during the last decade the Hamburg-based dark metal outfit has become one of the most ingrained and exciting acts on the international stage. The band’s sound has always been a heavy ride travelling through diverse dark genres, never standing still and constantly reinventing their sound. Lord of the Lost laid their foundations with big melodies, aggression and emotion. Their sound is bolstered by frontman Harms’ impressive vocal range, that leaps seamlessly from sonorous and clear to brutal death growls. “Progress means movement; and for us any movement can only head forward and upward,” Harms says. “It’s been an important step for us to continue our path of success together with a new, strong partner and we are proud that we have found this partner in Napalm Records! It could not be better for us!”
