Over two nights in January, a tribute show that’s becoming just as prolific as the iconic band at the centre of it all is gracing the stage for a Pink Floyd takeover. The Great Gig in the Sky: A Pink Floyd Celebration is back for its fifth visit to Naarm to present a show of all your Pink Floyd favourites alongside a crew of special vocalist guests. In its 22nd year running, if you haven’t yet caught the sensation that is this celebration of music, memories and creativity, now’s your chance.

While Steve Kilbey may have fronted cult favourite band The Church and released over 30 albums under that banner, this time he’s riding solo. Come along and experience the muso in all his glory as he dips back into The Church catalogue, sprinkles in some songs from his solo career and even plays a cover or two. After working in the music industry for 45 years, you can bet that there’ll be a fair share of cosy anecdotes and wholehearted stories mixed in with the music. If you’re looking for a night well spent this January, An Evening with Steve Kilbey is it.

Don’t be fooled by the name. You might want to relax with Max Vella and his 10-piece outfit as they take you on a journey of funk, soul and Afro-beat, but you’ll probably also want to dance. Sprinkling a dash of R&B and gospel into the mix of the groove-laden night, this high-energy show will have you jumping out of your seat and moving to the contagious beat.
