Melbourne’s soul and blues community bands together for cancer benefit gig

theputbacks.jpg

Some of Melbourne’s finest jazz, soul and blues performers are banding together for the first time in a one-off show to raise funds for Australian multi-instrumentalist Kim Kelaart.

Punters will have enjoyed Kim Kelaart’s stoic soul repertoire in regular performances on the Hammond or electric bass with the Paul Williamson’s Hammond Combo, Bob ValenNne and the Providers,  Stephen Magnusson, and more. All funds raised will go to Kim Kelaart to help pay for cancer treatment.

Artists coming together to perform include Jude Perl, The Putbacks, The Meltdown, Cookin on 3 Burners, and more.

“Drawing on the classic soul revues hosted by New York’s Apollo Theatre, Memo’s deco stage will host seven sets and a late-night Mighty Melbourne jam session,” said Cookin’ On 3 Burners’ Jake Mason.
