Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

One of the festival’s biggest draws is its impressive lineup of musical performances. At the Main Stage, festival-goers can groove to the beats of renowned headlining acts, The Potbelleez and DJ Havana Brown. The Potbelleez, an electronic dance music duo from Dublin, Ireland, have captivated audiences with their chart-topping hits like “Don’t Hold Back” and “Are You With Me.” DJ Havana Brown, an Australian musical sensation, has shared stages with global superstars like Britney Spears and Rihanna. Her infectious tunes, including the triple-platinum “We Run The Night,” promise to keep the crowd dancing all night long.

The Hume Winter Lights Festival also showcases an impressive array of art installations and exhibits. Light projections, presented in partnership with The Little Projector Company, illuminate the festival surroundings, transforming the architecture into a canvas for stunning artworks created by local Hume artists, students, and community members. The festival also hosts PLAY!SPECTRUM an interactive exhibition by Melbourne-based artist Beci Orpin. The exhibition is designed to engage children and families with the wonders of light and colour through hands-on activities exploring different materials, textures and immerse themselves into a world of play and creativity.

In addition to the music and art, the festival offers a diverse range of activities to keep attendees entertained throughout the night. Lace up those ice skates and glide across the artificial ice-skating rink, or participate in the various family-friendly activities taking place at Town Hall Broadmeadows. From African drumming workshops to glow-in-the-dark face painting, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The festival also features roving performers who will dazzle and delight with fire shows, neon performances, and light-up animals.

Food and Drink

As the night draws to a close, festival-goers can look forward to a spectacular fireworks show finale, lighting up the sky with a burst of colors and excitement. And when hunger strikes, the festival’s food truck lineup has got you covered. From Salt and Pepa Food Truck’s delectable calamari and fish and chips to Taste of Cyprus Souvlakis’ mouthwatering Greek lamb souvlakis, there’s a culinary delight to satisfy every palate. And for those seeking a sweet treat, options like ChocolaMu’s cheesecake and waffles and JD’s Kitchen’s irresistible churros are sure to delight.

Make a weekend out of it and stay and play in Hume. Within a 30-minute drive north of Melbourne CBD, Hume City is the perfect getaway destination including great wineries, attractions, eateries, markets and state parks the next day. Start planning your mini Winter vacay.
