Spiegel Haus Melbourne opens on 29 October as a two-level entertainment precinct in Chinatown's heart.
The Golden Square car park on Lonsdale Street and Celestial Avenue transforms into a cultural destination featuring multiple performance venues and a rooftop bar. Opening night showcases Blanc de Blanc Encore, the champagne-soaked cabaret and circus production running for three months in the ground floor spiegeltent, with tickets starting from $69.
Spiegel Haus Melbourne operates across two levels with a total capacity of 1,000 patrons during its nine-month season. The precinct includes a 380-seat Belgian spiegeltent, a 400-seat black box theatre designed for theatre, comedy and live music, plus an open-air activation space for outdoor performances and art installations. The rooftop bar offers panoramic city views alongside craft beers from Bodriggy Brewing Co and a food residency from CDMX Taquería, making Spiegel Haus Melbourne the number one summer spot for drinks, music and fun.

Blanc de Blanc Encore
Blanc de Blanc Encore blends vintage French glamour with high-octane circus and cabaret decadence, featuring acrobatic performances alongside champagne service. The production has already drawn 200,000 audiences across Australia, marking its first Melbourne appearance at the new venue. Strut & Fret created the show, which has toured internationally since 2016.
The 18+ show combines risqué comedy with spectacular aerials, big dance numbers and jaw-dropping surprises inside the 120-year-old Belgian spiegeltent. Audiences can expect an intoxicating Gatsby-esque atmosphere with champagne cocktails, titillating performances and edge-of-your-seat entertainment delivered with vintage French flair. The lavish production brings together acrobatics and burlesque-style cabaret in an evening designed for decadent abandon.
The precinct operates in partnership with the City of Melbourne and various arts organisations, positioned to become a festival hub and hospitality showcase through summer. Construction and fit-out begins in coming weeks, with the venue scheduled to run through winter 2026 before the site returns to its original use.
Additional programming will be revealed closer to the October opening, with the precinct aiming to establish itself as a destination for circus, theatre, comedy and live music in one concentrated cultural zone. The rooftop bar creates an integrated entertainment destination where patrons can attend performances and socialise in the same location.
