Melbourne’s dog-friendly, open-air cinema is set for summer

The American Express Openair Cinema is bringing more than just movies to St Kilda this summer (although, they’ve got them in spades too).

More of a self-contained mini-festival than just an open-air cinema, there’ll be a host of activities to keep you occupied in between catching some stellar films including Murder on the Orient ExpressThor RagnarokLove ActuallyDirty Dancing and Will Ferrell Christmas classic, Elf

How’s this for the kicker though. Each screening is completely doggo-friendly and even offers a VID (yep, Very Important Dog) package for your favourite canine to enjoy. They’ll get a fancy platter of dog foods and their very own canine couch.

As for food, some of Melbourne’s finest will be dishing up the goods on a series of alfresco long-table diners including Ladro pizza and top-notch three-course meals paired with wine, all matched to specific events. As for the beverages on offer, enjoy cocktails and beers with a dedicated bar.

In a joint bid to champion food waste prevention, American Express Openair Cinemas is also teaming up with OzHarvest to present Soul-Sundays, a Sunday session of delicious food sampling,  trivia, music and games for all the family.  A three-dollar donation from each ticket purchased will provide six meals to those in need.
