The service suspension affects trams between stop seven at Russell Street and stop four at Queen Street. Passengers can access alternative transport options during the closure period.

The new Bourke Street store covers 4000 square metres across multiple levels. MECCA projects 50,000 weekly visitors to the new store location. The retailer anticipates significant crowds for the grand opening event.

The store includes an immersive perfume gallery and dedicated gifting room. On-site wellness experts will provide beauty consultations alongside hair, nail and beauty appointments.

In a statement made to the Herald Sun, MECCA confirmed coordination with Melbourne City Council regarding opening day arrangements. The company stated safety remains the primary consideration for the event.

Yarra Trams confirmed the service changes follow standard protocols for public events. The transport operator works with event organisers to maintain passenger services where possible.

MECCA Bourke Street represents the retailer’s flagship Melbourne CBD presence. The three-level store design incorporates interactive displays and premium service areas.

The opening adds to Bourke Street’s established retail precinct. The store location positions MECCA within Melbourne’s central shopping district.

Service resumption occurs at 11am following the four-hour closure period. Normal tram operations return across both affected routes after the opening event concludes.
