Based on Goethe’s play Faust, about a man who sells his soul to the devil, this rare performance of Berlioz’s masterpiece will feature international superstar Bryn Terfel as the demon Méphistophélès.
Joining bass-baritone Bryn Terfel on stage will be tenor Andrew Staples as the gullible Faust, mezzo-soprano Renata Pokupić as Marguerite and Australian bass Shane Lowrencev as Brander. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus and the Men of the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs will feature throughout the concert.
