The four piece fuses heavy influences from across the pond with a distinctly Naarm twist.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, so you want to make sure you get it right. On Lucy’s Disorder’s debut single, Tell Me A Secret, it’s clear the band knows exactly who they are and they’re not afraid to show us.

First, there are big booming drums. Then, the intro blooms into a medley of twangy guitar, thick bass and hard rock prowess. The vocals come in, talk-sang with an Alex Turner-esque drawl, and punctuate the song in an arpeggiated melody.

The singer’s unique accent is the cherry on top, differentiating the band from their fellow alt-rock contemporaries. With just the right amount of attitude and apathy, he waxes poetic over the steadily churning instrumental.

Since forming in 2023, the band, made up of Nicolas Torres, Mike Palomeque, Zoe Alexa and Shane Clark, has been busy doing the rounds in Melbourne’s bars and bandrooms. They’ve shared bills with local legends like Hot Glue, Blank Face, Shock Collar and Mystic Tea Party.

Despite not having any music out until now, they’ve already picked up fans for their relentless onstage energy, razor-sharp performances and all together just being a solid rock band that knows how to have a good time.

Earlier this year, they took to the studio with producer Josh Ten to finally put their first single together. While they’ve taken a break from gigging to work writing new material, videos and more, we’re hoping they’ll be back on stage soon, because we think this track deserves a release party.
