Melbourne Podcast Festival to host over 25 live shows across three days with its inaugural event

Melbourne Podcast Festival will take over Village Cinema’s Jam Factory from Friday July 30 – Sunday August 1.

Some of the biggest players in the Australian podcast scene have teamed up to launch Melbourne Podcast Festival, a three-day event featuring live recordings of over 25 podcasts.

  • The inaugural Melbourne Podcast Festival is happening from Friday July 30 – Sunday August 1 at Jam Factory
  • Tickets are on sale from 1pm on Monday June 21
  • The festival will feature podcasts from the likes of The Chaser’s Dom Knight & Charles Firth, Ruby Jones, Andrew Denton and loads more

A joint venture from Frontier Touring, Mushroom Group, Acast and Schwartz Media, Melbourne Podcast Festival aims to spotlight some of the country’s best podcasts.

From current affairs and true crime to beauty, comedy, food, science and everything in between, the festival will give listeners the chance to catch a live recording of their favourite podcasts.

Hosting over 25 live shows, the event will feature the likes of 7AM with Ruby Jones, Australian True Crime with Meshel Laurie and Emily Webb, The Culture with Osman Faruqi, The Chaser Report with Dom Knight and Charles Firth, and Better Off Dead with Andrew Denton, to name a few.

“We’re thrilled to be launching a new annual event from the Mushroom family showcasing some amazing podcasters. We believe this festival will become a mainstay in the Melbourne events calendar moving forward,” said Mushroom Group CEO, Matt Gudinski.

“There’s so much exciting stuff happening in the audio space in Australia, and it’s great to be involved to help showcase it,” added Schwartz Media’s Osman Faruqi, Editor of 7AM and host of The Culture.


Melbourne Podcast Festival is happening from Friday July 30 – Sunday August 1 at Village Cinema’s Jam Factory. Tickets are on sale from 1pm on June 21.
