Melbourne Park’s new all-ages series SUPAGLOO starts in December

Words by staff writer

Frontier Touring and Melbourne Park have named a concert series after a Magic Dirt song. It’s SUPAGLOO.

SUPAGLOO is a quarterly, multi-genre, all-ages series built around the school and university holiday calendar, with every show licensed. The first two events land at MCA at Melbourne Park on 10 December and 2 April, with tickets at $49.90 and AXS running the sale as Melbourne Park’s official ticketing partner. More dates are planned across 2027.

December leans alt pop. 2charm bring the club cuts they’ve been making with Ninajirachi, fresh off a US run with her and a support slot for Slayyyter. Power pop trio Blusher arrive with the bubbles-and-choreography live show that’s taken them to the Laneway main stage, a Kesha support and an upcoming arena run opening for Robyn. Robert Baxter works the runway-and-ballroom end of Naarm pop, with the STARGIRL and PARTYANIMAL EPs and an Ashnikko support behind them. Closing the night, triple j Breakfast hosts Abby & Tyrone step out from the desk for a DJ set, Abby armed with Chappell Roan edits and Tyrone with the collected works of Role Model.

April swings to R&B. Ballarat-born Larissa Lambert makes a rare Melbourne appearance to launch her debut album Yearning, having collected co-signs from SZA, Justin Bieber and Ty Dolla $ign on the way up. ZIPPORAH, a proud Samu and Suy woman from Saibai Island in the Torres Strait, was raised in rehearsal rooms and venues around the country by performer parents. Filipina-Chilena DJ 1SA fills out the bill, moving through R&B, hip hop, Latin and Afro sounds and running her community event Kapwa in Naarm.

Victorian designer Sunnie Kuan, founder of Cheeky Noot Studio, built the visual identity – the acid green, lemon and bubblegum poster work doing the heavy lifting on first impressions. The series name comes from Supagloo by Australian alt-rockers Magic Dirt, a band that spent years playing all-ages rooms and backing local scenes. Frontier Touring boss Dion Brant and Melbourne Park chief executive John Harnden have both framed the series as artist development and audience development at once.

Frontier members get first crack through a presale from 16 October at 10am local, running 48 hours or until the allocation is gone. General tickets follow on 19 October at 10am local. Everything runs through frontiertouring.com/supagloo, with the series site at supagloo.live.
