In the two years since their emergence, DSUP has been on an unstoppable roll – churning out two records, snagging nominations at the ARIA and AIR Awards, and embarking on headline tours across Australia, the UK, and Europe.

Their unique blend of tongue-in-cheek political commentary has garnered them a devoted following and earned them spots alongside renowned acts like Tropical Fuck Storm and Bad//Dreems.

DSUP’s latest single Celebration, offers a fresh perspective on the world’s current turmoil. With its odd-measured groove, wire-y guitars, and mesmerising saxophone-synth blend, the track serves as a rallying cry for anyone feeling the weight of the modern dystopia.

Frontperson Dougal Shaw sheds light on the inspiration behind Celebration, stating, “It’s a celebration of getting out of bed in the morning. It’s a celebration of the communities we build to support and lift each other up.”

Their upcoming album, Total Reality, delves deeper into the individual’s struggles within late-capitalist society, exploring a range of themes with a hopeful outlook. Drawing influences from post-punk, synth-punk, krautrock, and avant-garde music, the album promises to be an expansive and immersive experience for listeners.

Shaw describes Total Reality as a ‘collage album,’ featuring pandemic-era demos, a mix of drum machines and live-tracked rhythm sections, fresh collaborations, and an array of instruments and samples. The album, set to release on April 19, 2024, will be available for pre-order on limited 12” Vinyl through Marthouse Records in Australia and Erste Theke Tontraeger in Europe.
