In Cult of the Lamb, players take on the role of a possessed lamb that must repay their debt to an ominous stranger that saved them by building a following in his name. The game sees you collecting and using resources to build your flock, performing dark rituals to appease the gods and destroying non-believers in a sprawling, randomly generated world.

It’s not common for Australian-made indie games to garner so much global success – with users on Steam rating it ‘Very Positive’, the developers of the adventure/strategy indie game expect it to reach a million sales in its first month alone, which is huge.

Another Melbourne indie game that saw international success was 2019 is Untitled Goose Game – an indie puzzle video game featuring a rather horrible goose that was designed and released by Melbourne developers House House and had viral success, going on to sell over a million copies and nab composer Dan Golding a nomination for Best Original Soundtrack at the 2020 ARIA Music Awards.

It’s retailing now for $35.95 on Steam. Get yourself a copy of Cult of the Lamb by heading here
