Melbourne Fringe Festival's So Soiree will take place at a new pop up performance space in Grattan Gardens alongside events at Chapel off Chapel and Prahran Square.
So Soiree promises to be one of the coolest attractions at this year’s Melbourne Fringe festival, turning Grattan Gardens, Greville Street Prahran into The Parlour, a pop-up performance venue hosting performances across comedy, cabaret and circus.
It will also take place in Prahran Square and Chapel off Chapel, taking inspiration from the Adelaide Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe traditions of turning outdoor areas into beautiful performance spaces.

Performances are set to include The People of Cabaret, a two-night-only variety takeover that showcases a riot of internationally-acclaimed cabaret, burlesque and circus artists. That will take place from 8 October til 10 October.
Town Choir will be a musical event turning text produced by acclaimed local writers Alistair Baldwin, Nayuka Gorrie and Michele Lee into an immediate and enormous, outdoor choir assembled in Prahran Square in glorious, four-part harmony on 9 October at Prahran Square.
Tulliah will kick off Chapel Fringe Sessions, singing songs from her new EP recorded during lockdown where she worked remotely with Grammy award-winning producer David Kahne in NYC who has worked with Lana Del Ray, Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks on 10 October at Chapel off Chapel.
Comedian Josh Glanc is doing ‘the best bits’ from his acclaimed theatre-comedy shows on 14 October at The Parlour.
From New York’s notorious club scene, comes Blunderland, featuring kitschy cabaret and burlesque acrobatics, the night is vibrant, shocking and uproarious. Blunderland is an evening that is as naughty as it is wholesome, and as raunchy as it sweet. This show is juicy and super fresh, not for the meek. Come prepared for anything, which runs from 9 – 16 October.
Last but certainly not least, Werk It – Tight Fit is an all-new, late-night, high-energy, acrobatic comedy romp. Celebrating spandex, high-vis, vitality and vigour – expect never seen before acrobatic feats and jaw dropping skill from 15 – 17 October at The Parlour.
There will also be a Fringe Festival Garden set up, a drinks menu from Blackhearts & Sparrows and nearby dinner spots, including Entrecôte, Italian hotspot Ladro, stylish steakhouse Angus & Bon, Modern Israeli favourite Golda, delicious Hu Tong Dumplings, and many more.
