Melbourne bands, venues and record labels to share in $500,000 payday

Support has been given to projects ranging from recording to touring, promotional campaigns, music programming, international tours and more. 

Major fund recipients include Alex Lahey, scoring $20,000 to record her debut album, Adrian Rafter (Milwaukee Banks) securing $14,500 to record a hotly anticipated second album, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks landing $12,377 to tour Europe, as well as Gabriella Cohen scoring $17,149 to tour North America.

Remote Control Records recieved $13,500 to run a series of live sessions at Newmarket Studios, while Milk Records picked up $8,391 for the mastering, production and promotion of Split Singles Club – a mail-order subscription series of 6 x split 7″ singles from 12 Victorian artists, co-released with indie label Bedroom Suck.

Elsewhere, Paradise Music Festival nabbed $10,000 to add a new stage to their festival while Yarra City Council was granted $30,000 to fund the fourth Leaps and Bounds Music Festival.
