Mecha Mecha: Blink and You’ll Miss It

Mecha Mecha describe themselves as neo-classical alternative rock. That’s a perfect way to describe their sophomore EP Blink & You’ll Miss It. The three-piece – made up of Angelo Webb on drums, Walter Webb playing various instruments and vocals, and Isaac Vincent on violin and bass – know how to deliver their unique style and sound into every song.

Opener Your Choice, starts the album off strong with distorted guitars, a catchy chorus and a flowing guitar solo. It’s the heaviest track on the album and leads the way for tracks like Obliged and Clingwrap to come crashing through.

Food Sex Shelter is by far one of the best songs off this EP. With the use of piano, violin and falsetto vocals, the band showcase their softer side. The final track Clingwrap is the perfect crazy end to the EP, with an interesting and experimental instrumental finish. The use of guitar solos are one of the strong points of this band, as they use them well in every song. They show they are a versatile band, delivering a heavy song such as Your Choice and a soft but powerful piece such as Food Sex Shelter on the same six-track EP.
