Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga Concert Experience connects events, themes and characters from across the MCU, celebrating beloved heroes including The Avengers, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, The Hulk, Ant Man and more.
The Guardians of the Galaxy will also feature prominently, with their iconic mixtape tracks performed live by the orchestra under the direction of conductor Nicholas Buc.
This concert event features scores from an impressive lineup of composers including Alan Silvestri, Ludwig Göransson, Michael Giacchino and Ramin Djawadi, alongside iconic songs from AC/DC (Back in Black), Blue Swede (Hooked on a Feeling) and custom-written Marvel tracks.
MCU in concert draws wide acclaim
Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga Concert Experience made its world debut at the Hollywood Bowl in August 2024, performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. The Melbourne performances mark the first time Australian audiences can experience this celebration of Marvel’s cinematic legacy combined with live orchestral music.
The performance itself is set to be a visual and aural feast, with specially curated footage from the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe projected onto a massive screen while the orchestra performs below. Conductor Nicholas Buc, known for his work on previous film-to-concert productions, brings particular expertise to this challenging format that requires split-second timing and precision.
The concert will run approximately two hours and 15 minutes including intermission, during which Marvel-themed refreshments will be available. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Marvel characters, with prizes awarded for the most creative costumes each night.
The concert is produced by Disney Concerts, the production and licensing division of Disney Music Group, which creates concert packages for major franchises from Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm and Pixar. The event joins Disney Concerts’ impressive portfolio of live-to-picture experiences, which includes other popular franchises such as Star Wars, Toy Story, and The Lion King.
Tickets for Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga Concert Experience go on sale from 10am on 24 April.
